3rd Shift Tie-In Position

Pay Range: $11-12 per hour

Full Job Description:

The Tie-In will report to the department supervisor in a manufacturing setting and will be responsible for detailed and accurate production work. This employee concentrates on tying in yarns or rubber end to end. Total commitment to quality is a part of every employee’s responsibility in order to achieve and exceed the Company’s Quality Objectives. The employee is expected to follow established protocols and procedures and comply with the set policies of Interstate Narrow Fabrics.

Essential Functions:

  • Ties in yarn or rubber end to end to keep looms operating.

  • Observes yarn or rubber defects prior to beginning tie in process.

  • Fetches yarns or rubber and resupplies looms.

  • Notify supervisors or technicians of mechanical malfunctions.

  • Record information as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management.

  • Must be attentive, watching and listening for any problems in area of responsibility.

  • Must be able to hand off the status of jobs to overlapping shifts.

  • Ability to understand and follow the requirements of applicable work instructions and/or internal specifications.

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Possess basic mathematical skills to add, subtract.

  • Ability to get along well with others and work in a team environment.

  • Excellent dependability and reliability.

  • Good vision to see yarn ends.

  • Good hand dexterity to tie knots.

 

Physical Demands:

This position stands 100% of the time. Must be able to reach with arms (above the head), use hands and have finger dexterity to knot, thread and handle fine yarns and tools. Right hand dominance is an asset. Sometimes required to stoop or walk, talk or hear. This position requires good clear vision and including color, peripheral, distance, and depth perception, the ability to adjust focus. Routine exposure to a noisy environment. Occasionally climbs stairs and / or ladders.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Pass criminal background check and drug screen.

Note: Pay rate is according to experience. In most cases our company is willing to train the right candidate and pay rate will depend on different factors.
All available positions, unless otherwise noted, train on 1st shift (7am - 3pm).
